Welcoming in the New Year was great fun as a family. I'm so glad every seat in our house was filled with someone for our celebration. Ashton and I worked hard all afternoon getting our party ready while the guys went to see the new Hobbit movie. We decided we would do a repeat of last year with our chocolate fondue and add some cheese fondue to the mix. We bought a really cool electric fondue pot so we are official! For our cheese fondue dippers we used bread chunks, broccoli, asparagus, little weinies, ham chunks and green apples. The warm cheese sauce was pretty tasty, but super thick and it was hard to keep the dippers on your fork. Everything kept falling into the pot! We've never done cheese before and I'm not sure it was well received by the Carroll crew, maybe we need to try a different recipe.
The chocolate fondue was very well received! We used our traditional chocolate sauce that we have been using for decades. It's always awesome dipping bananas, orange slices, apples, marshmallows, strawberries, raspberries, its just delicious, sprinkle coconut and chopped pecans on that and you are in chocolate, fondue heaven! The new fondue pot was really fun and it did a fabulous job keeping the chocolate perfectly warm.
After the fondue we headed outside for a firework show, courtesy of Walmart fireworks! Brandon and Easton helped set them up. We braved the cold by bundling up with our coats, hats, and gloves. It really was cold for a Georgia night. The fireworks were great. We only had a few mishaps like when the big, huge grand finale tipped over and burned the lawn. Oh the memories!
The End.....Happy New Year!!!
oh boy, good thing it didn't tip towards your house and spray you all with fire! Fun idea, and fun night! love the fondue thingy,,,
