Private Beach Time at Las Caletas

We booked an excursion Monday morning to take a boat across the bay with our destination being a private beach that is only accessible by boat.  We arrived at the boat dock via a short taxi ride around 8:30 in the morning.  It was a chilly, cloudy morning and I was thinking that we may have a yucky day for our adventure but the sun eventually came out, burned off the clouds and it ended up being a fabulous, perfect day.  This picture is at the boat dock, waiting to load.

There was a seal that was on display at the boat dock and you could pay to have your picture taken with him.  Kind of crazy, but fun.
Cruising along through the wavy waters of Puerto Vallarta.  Stephen and I both got a little queasy, but nothing we couldn't handle.  When we arrived back to our hotel I felt like I was still on the boat all day long.  Even looking at the ocean made my head feel a little weird.

This is the view we saw for most of our journey along the coastline.  Beautiful mountains and buildings.
We went through these rocks...

We are being greeted by the "natives" as we step foot on our private beach

Stephen was just dieing to go through this cave and see what was on the other side but the tide kept coming in and the other side was white water slamming against the rocks.  Glad he chose to stay on the safe side.

There were hammocks hung of the ocean water on the shoreline...so cool!

There were photographers on the beach that took pictures while we were there so we bought the little flash drive of all the photos.  I was quite surprised when I downloaded the photos on Stephen's computer to see every picture they had taken of every single person that was on the beach that day.  Too many pictures of people I didn't care to see!

There was a nice little Mexican buffet provided for out lunch and we sat at a lovely table with an amazing ocean view.  Quite spectacular!
There was a trail on the beach that you could walk through that led you to the island animals.  We were able to hold some of them.....monkeys, python, mccaws/parrots, flamingos, hawks.  The parrots said, "Hola!"

Snorkeling was a blast!

The kayaking in the ocean was a little more challenging than I thought it would be.  It was fun but Stephen had a difficult time sitting up straight because of his back.  He just laid down in a reclining position and did his things.  We were supposed to paddle together....left, right, left but that didn't always happen.  It definitely works better when you're a team.

On the way back to the city the crew members put on a medley of Queen songs and really hammed it up.  Everyone was laughing and it certainly made the return trip go more quickly.
