New Year's Day

It's always fun to have a party with the Carrolls, especially to celebrate the upcoming New Year.  We are ready for 2014 and hope it's a great year for everyone.  We went over the Michael and Jeni's for the traditional soup party.  There were six different pots of soup to choose from; white chicken chili, kale, taco soup, Seafood soup, chili, sausage and corn chowder.  They were all yummy.  I used the strategy of just tasting a little bit of each instead of filling my bowl full.  With so many choices you want to try them all!
After the soup fest we gathered for the sharing of talents from whoever wanted to participate.  We had joke telling, singing with the piano and guitar.  After the talents everyone went outside for some serious fireworks!  And not just the wimpy Georgia kind, the ones you get over the state line kind!  they were huge, loud and very impressive.  The cousins had a blast running around with sparklers and covering their ears when they knew a big one was coming!
