Landon's Piano Recital

Landon had a recital three weeks ago. Here is a small clip of him playing Boogie Boardin' on an incredible $80,000 piano! WOW!

Birthday Celebration.... gone bad?

We celebrated Ashton's birthday yesterday because she wanted to go ut with her friends. She got a new pink suitcase for her journey to BYU. This is a really funny picture.

After the celebration, Easton was in his room with Ashton. He put Spunky on her shoulder and it started to crawl on her neck and get in her hair. She started to scream and dropped Spunky on the bed. I came in and Spunky was inside a pillowcase and was very afraid. "That was one of the happiest days of my life", says Easton.

Singing in Savannah

Dallin and Ashton had the opportunity to be selected for All - State Chorus in Savannah, Georgia. After two very competetive auditions they were picked. Only a small number of students are selected in the whole state of Georgia. It's quite prestigious to be chosen. The pictures are of Mom and Dad in Savannah enjoying the sites and scenery of old Savannah and Ashton and Dallin in their uniforms.

Ouch!!!!

Yesterday I was riding my friends' ATV in the neighborhood. I was coming up on a hill in the street and somehow I spun out of control and flipped. I was sent sliding across the road. The ATV was on someone's driveway. We thought it sounded like it a gas leak. My friend handed me his bike and I zoomed to my house. I came into the kitchen and started to get cleaned up. My arm was burning and bleeding a lot and oozing. I jumped in the shower to clean my cuts and stuff. It burned. I came out of the shower to hear the ATV coming up the driveway--it was fine. I'm never riding that thing again. It is incredibly unstable and too small for anyone to ride unless you are six years old.

Even Ashton

Some of you may have noticed at the end of my last entry I wrote, "Even Easton." This is our new family joke that I thought I'd share. Easton has developed a love of writing lately. He makes cards for Stephen and I on a regular basis. He always explains that he loves us, Dallin loves us, Landon loves us in his cute little messages. Then as almost a sidenote he will write, "Even Ashton." It's the same in every card--Even Ashton. He often asks where Ashton is and why she is never with the family. She misses dinner often for work and always misses FHE because of work. Easton thinks it's weird that she's never here. I think in his mind he is trying to reassure us that Ashton does love us even though she's not around much.

Ashton doesn't think it's too funny. She thinks we encourage him to write, "Even Ashton", but we honestly have had nothing to do with it. Sooo for now--Easton loves us, Dallin loves us, Landon loves us, and
even Ashton!

Ants?!?

Well, the ants are marching one by one, hoorah, horrah! They finally arrived. Landon got an ant farm for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa, except the ants weren't included. We had to send away for them in California. It was supposed to take 3-6 weeks. They said it would take longer depending on the weather. They couldn't send them if it was going to be cold. mmmmmm...... They arrived yesterday in the mail in a little tube. We carefully placed them in their habitat so none would sneak out into our home. 31 of them! They are now comfortable and settled and very busy building tunnels. It will be fun to observe them.

Speaking of ants, we have had big, black ants in the kitchen for about a week and a half. They just sort of appeared and were getting to be annoying. I got RAID and sprayed the floorboards. No more ants! woohoo. I do have a bug man who comes once a month. Got to manage the roaches! We'll have to have a little chat the next time he comes.

Cool Cars

Ashton and Mom went to a really cool car museum for a Young Women's activity. We saw so many awesome cars and loved posing with the cool cars. You would have loved this, Dad! The jeep was from WWII. I don't know all the names of the cars we saw, but I know they were impressive. The race car that Ashton is sitting in was from Dale Earnhart.

A beautiful Easter day

We had a beautiful Easter. The children were all spiffy with their new spring clothes to celebrate this wonderful day. The boys colored eggs in the morning. Church was great with special talks and choir presentation. I did a 10 minute teaching moment in YW. Each member in presidency talked about a miracle that Jesus performed. Then we wrapped it up at the end with the atonement. Pretty good, I must say.
After church we had a fabulous dinner with my friend, Amy and her children joining us. Ham, turkey, fluffy potatoes, glazed carrots, homemade rolls, deviled eggs and the best strawberries of the season were served. Lemon ribbon ice cream was dessert. After dinner the children participated in a challenging egg hunt. The ultimate prize was the large golden egg that contained an "unknown" amount of money. With a lot of time and perseverance, Landon finally found it. The kids had a great time even though it was really quite cold!

These are the boys' rats (Landon and Easton) They love them so much!!! We have found them to be great pets. They are also very clean so there is hardly any mess to clean up. As you can see, they love to go on your shoulder and they don't even bite. We went to the pet store to get hamsters but we came back with rats. They are very cuddly and we love them. THEY ARE NOT GROSS!!!

Oh and their names are Spunky and Rascal.
Spunky is the multicolored one and rascal is the other one.
I'm Starting this crazy stuff!

Well, The Carroll family has an official Blog site. We are starting this crazy business and we have no idea what we are doing. Landon will help me when he gets home from school and hopefully we can download some pictures so you can enjoy a little bit of our lives. Hope you enjoy my slow progress. Maybe one day mine will be cuter than Janelle's!
