We Need a Little Christmas

Christmas Eve found us together as a family eating a special dinner to help us remember that this is a special time of year.  I love the campaign put out by the church this year, He Is the Gift.  If we can remember the gift that our Savior is to each of us then we will want to be better.  We will want to emulate Jesus and become like him.

For our dinner we made some delicious Ritzier Chicken, colorful pasta, and a healthy spinach salad with poppy seed dressing.  I think we were all craving something healthy after snacking on all of the Christmas goodies that are too available at this time of year.  Caramel balls, shortbread cookies and piles of treats dropped off at the house are just too tempting to resist!

Ashton and Brandon are in the Christmas spirit!
Love these two brothers!  Check out the impressive Shrimp Cocktail on their plates...yummy!

After dinner Stephen read the Christmas story out of the bible as we listened and were taught.  Easton and Dallin prepared a nice performance of Silent Night on the guitars while Dallin sang.  I love Silent Night accompanied on guitar, such a simple presentation that touches you.

And then the favorite part of the evening......jammy time. Everyone opened their new Christmas jammies and the boys were especially excited because in addition to receiving pajamas, they got slippers too!  And I did a smart thing this year.  After opening up Christmas jammies for 24 years I finally had the great idea of wrapping all of the jammies in the same wrapping paper then it was super easy to identify them under the tree.  It always seems to take forever to find the boxes with the pajamas in them.  It only took me a few years to figure that out!

Goofy girl!  Everyone just mocks me when I take pictures to document our family history.
