BYU Day

It's always been a tradition to visit BYU, our Alma Mater when we come to Utah. We take the scenic drive down to Provo, enjoying the beautiful mountain range as we travel. Once in Provo we head straight to the BYU bookstore. Shopping for BYU memorabila is a must. The boys usually pick a baseball hat or a sweatshirt. This year was no different--Easton picked a cool hat, Dallin chose a sweatshirt, Landon wanted a hat, Mom got a really cool sweatshirt and keychain, Dad picked a hat, and Ashton.......well, she wasn't there, but she did get something. She'll find out what it is when we get back to Georgia. hee hee.

After the shopping trip we walked around campus looking at how things have changed. The new Hinkley welcome center was awesome. I didn't expect it to be so big. It is a nice addition to campus. We found Helaman Halls, Ashton's dorm where she will be living in the Fall. She'll be at Chipman Hall and will eat her meals at the Cannon Center. It was good to show Dallin, Lanodn, and especially Easton where Ashton would sleep and eat during the school year.

After the campus tour we headed off to the Brick Oven for dinner. mmmmmm..the kids love that place. We got a yummy extra large pizza, not a crumb was left. Suckers are always the dessert of choice, Root beer was the flavor of choice. Another successful year at BYU and another generation heading off to school soon. We know Ashton will have a great time studying, learning, and playing. Stephen and I are jeaous--can we go too!

The Cannon center where Ashton will eat her meals.
Inside the Cannon center--now that just looks downright homey!
