Norman Rockwell Museum

While in New York visiting with Gretchen we ventured to the Normal Rockwell museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.  We really had a grand time learning about one of my favorite artists and his style of painting.  He was quite a unique man and wanted his art to pull at your heart.  If you couldn't relate to what he had painted in his painting then he felt that he had failed.  I loved seeing his original paintings and learning about his life.

This painting can be found in the United Nations building.
This is the original art palette that Norman Rockwell used.  He cleaned it everyday so that he always started with fresh paint.
After going to the museum we headed into the tiny, quaint town of Stockbridge to the Main Street.  We got out a walked around and ventured into the shops.  This picture was taken in their old library that is still in use today.  The architecture was amazing and the word work throughout the library, including the railings was definitely made by a craftsman.

Gretchen tried so hard to get a good picture.....
And here's one of Gretchen!
While walking on the Main Street I noticed this planter full of vegetable plants.  They had crammed all sorts of vegetable plants into this one large pot.  Squash, beans, tomatoes, basil, parsley, dill, and oregano.  It was interesting to see the use of vegetable plants instead of flowers.
